A custom system for the construction company Polákstav. The crew logs hours on their phones right from the site, and the owner sees costs, profit and payroll live.

The starting point
Polákstav is a growing construction company. It tracked attendance, wages and site costs by hand in spreadsheets. Mistakes were common, monthly payroll took days, and nobody could see what each site really cost.
Phase 1: an automated Google Sheet
The first version was an automated Google Sheet with three contract types, daily attendance states, wage calculation and costs split by site. Built so the company could run it without any technical knowledge.
Phase 2 · built and deployed
A web app that holds the company together
The Google Sheet took the company a long way, but it had limits: fixed ranges in formulas, rate changes that rewrote the past, and no way to tell who forgot to log their hours. So I replaced it with a web app. One system now holds the whole company together, from an hour logged on site, through costs and profit, to a quote for the customer.

The whole crew, the whole month on one screen: work, holiday, public holiday, sick leave. Fix an entry in two seconds and it flows straight into costs.
Worker portal
The crew logs hours on their phones right from the site. An entry can be corrected until 7:00 the next morning, then the day locks.
Costs
Labour is calculated from attendance and rates, plus materials and overheads, per site and per month.
Profit per site
Revenue minus real costs: the profit and margin of every site at any time, not at the end of the year.
Finance and charts
Where the money goes, costs by month and hours worked, clearly laid out in charts.
Quotes
A quote from your own price list in minutes, as a finished PDF for the customer.
Payroll and advances
